ABOUT

The story began in 2002, when owner David Wiesner decided to open up an Italian coffee shop on Forsyth Street named Monterone, thus giving birth to the first Espresso & Panini bar in the neighborhood. Shortly after, the little café expanded to its subterranean location and a restaurant was born: Grotto. Over the years, Grotto grew to become one of New York’s best kept secrets and Monterone has evolved into a high-end boutique catering company. Ever since Monterone Inc. has been servicing New York’s culinary conscious, demanding corporate and private clientele as well as the most resounding names in today’s fashion, design, celebrity, art and business world.
